5 Little Pumpkins block

Melissa at Happy Quilting  designed a really fun block for the Glorious Autumn Block Party hosted by Quilting Gallery last week. Of course I had to make one for Littlest Miss.

Here is Melissa's block:
http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot.ca/2012/10/5-little-pumpkins-glorious-autumn-block.html. Melissa's block and the book that inspired it.
 Here is my block:

I changed this block to use the fabrics I had on hand. I did not have enough "sky" fabric so I took the "ground" up behind the fence to fill in. I also only had black so I did a night version and added a moon with applique. I attached mine with hook and loop tape since my machine is a bear to make buttonholes with. I also added elastic loops (too short though) for rolling up for storage. I didn't bind, but sewed right sides together then turned. I used fusible fleece rather than batting for the quilting and for the pumpkins to make it a little easier.

I'm a winner!

The Henry Glass Blog, The Sewing Cabinet, had a giveaway a couple of weeks ago and I won! They sent a BUNCH of this really cute Halloween fabric by Debbie Taylor-Kerman called Delightfully Frightful.

Yardage galore!

Halloween Table Runner

Last year I used my favorite table runner tutorial for the Easy Table Runner (or 10 Minute Table Runner by LaRae Bunnell Clark) to make a Halloween table runner. It was a fast easy and fun project and you could make one for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah etc. (It is not a quilted table runner.)
A quick tutorial on the stack and whack method.

SUPPLIES:

4+ fat quarters. (Use whatever number suits your project, but at least 3.)
Yardage for backing (this will be equal to the length of your finished pieced strip by the width plus a few inches) I started with 2 yards but did not use it all. It was probably a little less than a yard in length. I wanted a long runner for my large table.
Rotary cutter
Ruler
Cutting mat
Sewing machine
Coordinating Thread.
Pins
Iron

Here the ruler is angled left.

For the next cut the ruler angled right. Sorry about the missing  ruler change in the photo.
